Steve Green an avid cyclist and ECVelo member was stuck by a car Sunday (7/6/19) around 630pm while riding with his 13 and 18-year-old sons on Worthington road between County Home and 43.

Steve is at home recovering after sustaining 4 fracture ribs, a deep laceration on his left arm, and multiple musculotendinous injuries to his upper body that will require several months to recover. Omitting details about Steve’s sons for privacy issues.

In order to raise awareness and express concern for this incident Steven Hardy-Braz (the guy who rides with a flag hanging several feet to the left of his front handlebar) a staunch cycling advocate and safety activist is going to ride 3.7 mile loops in the area Steve Green was struck on the section of Worthington Road from the intersection of Old Tar Road (in Winterville) to the intersection of  HYW 43 and Worthington Road (DH Conley High School) from 7am to 7 pm this Saturday (7/13/19).

Steven Hardy-Braz plans to depart from Boyd Lee Park (5184 Corey Rd, Greenville, NC 27858) at 7am this Saturday July 13 and has invited the whole Greenville cycling community to join him. You can ride for 10 minutes or 12 hrs. whichever your legs/schedule will allow.

We recommend that you park at Boyd Lee. If you have any questions or would like more details, feel free to reach out to Steven Hardy-Braz at: hardybraz@coastalnet.com
