In case you have yet to hear-the annual CNC Mts to the Sea ride will be passing through Pitt Co and having its first ever rest stop in Pitt Co on October 6th. Nearly 2,000 cyclists from across the country will be staying overnight in Wilson and Kinston on Thursday and Friday nights, respectively (Oct 5th & 6th). So they will be riding into Farmville on Friday for a late morning rest stop at the Duck-Rabbit Brewery and visiting the downtown area. They will then be riding out to Simple Natural Creamery for their next rest stop. Farmville is planning to become very welcoming to these pedal powered visitors that day and improve the area for cycling. Anyone interested in volunteering or helping, please let me know. Please spread the word so motorists and others are not caught by surprise with a nearly three-hour long non-stop stream of cyclists in our area from around 10am to 2pm.
